What to Expect – Race Day in Paradise The event, hosted on Sunday, 22 June 2025, offers a variety of distances to suit all fitness levels: Half Marathon (21.1km) – 10km Fun Run – 5km Run/Walk – Kids 500m & 1.5km Beach Dashes 

Each course runs along the pristine shoreline of Whitehaven Beach — no roads, no crowds, just the sound of waves and your feet hitting the sand. The compact, cool sand near the water’s edge makes for a surprisingly comfortable run, with postcard views in every direction. 

Getting There The only way to reach Whitehaven Beach is by boat or seaplane, which adds to the sense of adventure. On race morning, event ferries depart from Hamilton Islandand Airlie Beach, making the journey part of the experience. If you’re staying on Hamilton Island, you’re in prime position — ferries are quick and convenient, and you’ll be back in time to enjoy a post-run dip in the resort pool or a celebratory cocktail by the marina.
